8 Months Old

My goodness time is just flying by, but we're enjoying every minute of it!!
This darling smile continues to bring smiles to the faces of everyone that we come in contact with--family, friends, strangers, people at the store--everyone!
Blaine Karter is so busy!!! He just goes and goes all day long only slowing down for two naps a day and around 7:30 at night for bath time and bed time.

He is crawling!!
He's been army crawling around for a few weeks now and has just recently perfected his skills so that he can get across the room really fast. We've been waiting for him to just take off everyday as we've watched him get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth trying to figure out how to get his little body moving. He also has started pulling himself up to short things like the first stair, low boxes, the lid drawer, etc. We're going to have to invest in a safety gate and cupboard locks pretty soon.

He loves getting into things and mom's lid drawer is a new favorite! There are just so many lids in so many colors and shapes and sizes. Although, his favorite one is probably the ziploc lid because it's transparent and he can watch around the room as he licks it and rubs it across his face.

He doesn't miss a thing! If there is something new in our house, he finds it!
He loves to scratch his finger nails across things to feel their texture and see if he can get hold of it. One of the funny things he does is lay under chairs, tables, anything really and look for tags hanging down or stickers attached to them and pick at them until he can get them loose.
Little Blaine has recently added graham crackers, puff cereal, and any other soft thing on mom's plate to his diet. He knows when it's time to eat and loves to sit in his high chair when we're eating dinner and eat something too.
He eats a bowl of potatoes mixed with other veggies twice a day and some fruit for dessert. He also has yogurt for breakfast and apple juice too. He would much rather have all this yummy food over a bottle most of the time these days. He only has a bottle when he's getting sleepy or to fill in the cracks!
He's started to wave at people where ever we are. Last Sunday a guy in our ward was holding Blaine as he was standing on his lap during Sunday School. Blaine started waving at the teacher and she couldn't resist waving back at him. He got a huge grin on his face and was very proud of himself.
Blaine has continued to sleep through the night and only wakes up occasionally when he can't find his binky or thinks he needs to be wrapped back up.
He still hasn't had any teeth break through yet so I'm considering myself lucky!
We are so lucky to have such a content little boy that is always so happy!
