Waiting for Ella

While waiting for Ella to make her grand entrance we kept ourselves very busy doing various projects. Earlier in the fall we added bead board to her room, painted that white, and then painted the top half purple. Then I got busy crafting.

We needed a dresser for her clothes that would match her room so I got my childhood dresser (that was ugly as sin--brown with gold and yellow knobs) and sanded, primed, and painted. Then I antiqued it by adding a glaze and then bought some gorgeous new handles. I'm in love with the finished project and it looks darling in her room.

I made myself a new nursing cover.
This is one of the five recieving blankets that I sewed.
A car seat cover that I sewed (without a pattern even). I wish that I would have placed the ties a bit differently but not enough to unpick them and redo it. We loved the way that the cover fabric matched her bedroom walls so much that we went and got more fabric just like it and I sewed curtains for her windows (no picture yet).
I crocheted these little Mary Jane shoes after crocheting about 20 dishcloths for Christmas gifts.
I added some cute fabric to fabric diapers to make cute burp clothes.
I then made Ella a newborn beanie to cover her wee head once she was born. It turned out so cute that I made our neighbor girls one for Christmas too.
And I did all of this while growing and growing huge by the minute! After looking at this huge belly you would never believe how tiny my little baby girl was when she came out!
