Just before Ella turned 4 months old both kids got really sick. Blaine had a cough and runny nose and I tried really hard to keep him away from her but he loves to kiss her and hold her and be right by her every minute that it was near impossible. So my little angel got sick too. It was so sad. She had so much phelgm in her throat that she would get coughing and throw up everything. She couldn't keep anything down for two days so I took her in to the doctor because I was worried that she would get dehydrated. She did have brochilolitis...not bronichitis and not rsv but defnitely a virus and was very sick. No medicine would help we just had to nurse her through it. Poor thing.
When we went in for her 4 month weel check appointment she had spiked a fever yet again. The doctor said it couldn't be from her previous illness so he wanted a urine test before vaccinating her. Right before the nurse could get the cathetar in she peed all over and so there was none left to catch. So we had to wait until she did. We ended up being at the doctor's office for 3 hours that day. She ended up being healthy and her urine test looked great so they vaccinated her. The doctor had no explanation for the fever. I'm just glad she wasn't sick with something else.
She was 12 lb 10 oz (19 percentile) and 24.6" long (59 percentile). She's just a tiny one.
Up until she got sick she was sleeping through the night. That vanished while she was sick. She had to be suctioned every couple of hours and given medicine for her fever and achey pains. Poor little thing took over a week to get better. We are just now getting back to a normal sleeping schedule. She still has her leaky eyes but the doctor thinks that they will get better over time.
She is getting so strong and can hold herself up while you hold her. She doesn't yet roll over yet but she doesn't really have a need to when her brother gets her everything she wants (and doesn't want). We are giving her more and more tummy time and time on the floor so that she can start to get some movement. She is such a sweet baby and is very happy most all of the time. She wakes up laughing and cooing -- the sweetest sounds in the world really.
